Gold, the alchemists’ aurum philosophicum, coats each figure, not as ornament but as chrysopoetic emergence. These luminous shells “apprehend” their marble originals the way the perfected soul overtakes the mortal in Hermetic writings: by imposing a higher valence of being.

A ring of Chinese luohans (arhats) sits in silent meditation around a luminous violet pool where a question mark mandala drifts across the surface. At their shared focal point, a single bubble rises a minimal phenomenological event in which emptiness briefly takes form. Vision, reflection, and endless duplication remind us that any conclusion drawn here is just an illusion; what endures is the sustained act of looking.

"Bodhisattva in a Binary Shroud" - 2021

A Greco-Buddhist head of Bodhisattva - salvaged from the Tapa Shotor monastery, later destroyed by the Taliban - floats in a rushing field of coded light. Binary glyphs ripple across a translucent veil, half-hiding, half-revealing the timeless gaze. Past and algorithm collide: what becomes of wisdom when it is streamed rather than remembered?
